This study have aims to see differences in emotional control in terms of parental care. The subjects of the study were teenage students in SMA Utama Medan, sitting in class XI amounted to 59 people. Based on the results of the analysis by using the formula of Variance Analysis, it is known that there are differences in emotional control between students who are cared for by authoritarian, democratic and permissive parenting, with F
= 5,354 with p = 0,007 <0,050. Thus, the proposed hypothesis which reads that there is a difference of emotional control between students cared for by authoritarian parenting, democratic parenting and permissive parenting, is accepted. Furthermore, by looking at the average value is known that students are cared for by democratic parenting, have better emotional control than students who are cared for by authoritarian parenting and permissive parenting.
