Raksana Medan Education Foundation is a private school located in Medan. The ability of the students is very good in both academic and non-academic fields. For each year the Raksana Medan Education Foundation determines 10 outstanding teachers out of the total number of teachers in the Medan Raksana Education Foundation. This cannot be achieved without educators / teachers who have high competence. The problems in the current selection process for outstanding teachers only use observation of teacher behavior and attendance levels which are considered too easy and ineffective and result in unfairness so that the assessment results are not in accordance with the expected qualifications and are considered less effective in conducting teacher assessments. Until now there is no system that regulates the selection of outstanding teachers at the Raksana Medan Education Foundation. In improving the performance of teachers at the Raksana Medan Education Foundation, the selection of outstanding teachers is carried out in stages, but it is not optimal in its implementation, because the method of assessment is still not systemized and structured regarding the criteria for being selected as outstanding teachers. The criteria used in the selection process were teacher education, teacher teaching hours, attendance, teacher performance, leadership traits, teacher personality, social, professional, teacher pedagogic. After the analysis was carried out, it was obtained using the waspas method that was included in the category of teachers who achieved achievement at the Raksana Medan Education Foundation, namely Muhammad Ikhwal with the highest score, namely 0.6331. Therefore to optimize the process of assessing teacher competence and teacher potential. So the authors created a decision support system for determining outstanding teachers using the Waspas method.
