IMPLEMENTATION OF PROTOTYPING METHOD IN DESIGNING MOBILE-BASED WAREHOUSE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT APPLICATION
Abstract
Warehouse inventory management is a crucial aspect in maintaining operational efficiency and stock data accuracy within companies. However, most inventory management processes are still performed manually, making them prone to recording errors, information delays, and data loss. This study aims to implement the prototyping method in designing a mobile-based warehouse inventory management application. The prototyping method is chosen because it enables iterative application development by directly involving user feedback, thus optimally accommodating user needs. The developed application provides features such as recording incoming and outgoing goods, item categorization, real-time stock monitoring, and inventory reporting. Implementation results show that the application improves time efficiency by 40%, reduces recording errors up to 95%, and facilitates inventory data access for users on various mobile devices. User evaluations indicate a high level of satisfaction with an average score of 4.2 out of 5.0 regarding the application's ease of use and functionality. This research is expected to serve as a reference for developing mobile-based inventory information systems across various industrial sectors.
