The Effect Of Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition On Students’ Reading Comprehension

This research aims to determine whether there is a significant effect of using Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method on students' Reading Comprehension. This research is an experimental research with quantitative approach. This research was conducted at MTs PAB 1 Helvetia and The Sample was Class of IX-B and IX-C which Consisted of 32 students each classes. The Experimental Class was taught by using Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition while control class was taught by using conventional method. The data were obtained from the test by using SPSS 25 program. The result showed that the mean score of post-test from control class was 52,59 while the mean score of post-test from experimental class was 75,93. Based on the score of hypothesis showed that t count (4.068) > t table (2.040) and the sig. (2-tailed) 0.001 < 0.05. it can be concluded that the Nul hypothesis (HO) was rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, which means that there was a significant effect of Reading and Composition (CIRC) on students’ reading comprehension skills.
