The subjects of this research were students of VII-2 class of SMP Swasta Sinar Husni Medan. In collecting data, researchers used both quantitative and qualitative data. Researchers used speaking test in quantitative data. Meanwhile, research used observation, documentation, and interview in qualitative data. Based on the results, students learning outcomes in each cycle had increased. This can be seen from the post-test results in cycle I that there were 15 students (46.8%) out of 32 students who completed and categorized as very poor and it increased in the post-test of cycle II where there were 28 students (87.5%) out of 32 students who completed and categorized as very good. The results showed that the student’s speaking skill improved significantly. This was proven by significant difference between students' mean scores on the pre-test and post-test activities in Cycle I and Cycle II. Furthermore, it was also strengthened by the results of qualitative data where the researchers found that the students were interested and active in speaking class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of Look and Say method was effective to enhance student’s speaking skill at VII-2 class of SMP Swasta Sinar Husni Medan.
